Events Right on the Bay

Our ground level waterfront space is built for weddings, private events, corporate gatherings, fundraisers, birthday parties, and community events in Sarasota County.

When private events are not taking place, guests can relax by the bay with waterfront seating, cornhole, ping pong, giant Jenga, dock access, and food and drinks from upstairs.

The second floor is The Point’s main dining experience, featuring indoor and outdoor waterfront seating, a full-service bar, fresh coastal flavors, chef-inspired specials, and handcrafted cocktails.

Open Tuesday through Sunday, guests can enjoy lunch, dinner, happy hour, weekend dining, and bay views in a relaxed, elevated setting.

Third Floor Sunset Lounge

The third floor Sunset Lounge offers one of The Point’s best waterfront views, with open-air seating, spacious bar areas, TVs, handcrafted cocktails, and sunsets over Little Sarasota Bay.

It is a perfect spot for weekend drinks, celebrations, sports, and relaxing by the water.

Open Friday evenings and all day Saturday and Sunday.

A Place With History

Long before Evie’s On the Bay became a local favorite, this waterfront property was part of Sarasota County’s story.

For thousands of years, people have gathered along these shores. Nearby Historic Spanish Point preserves more than 5,000 years of local history and remains one of the Gulf Coast’s most important archaeological sites.

By the late 1800s, the area had become a destination for travelers and winter visitors. Over time, the property grew from fishing camps and marinas into a beloved waterfront gathering place for boaters, locals, and visitors.

From Fish Camp to Tiki Favorite

During the 1950s and 1960s, fishermen traveled through the once-open Midnight Pass into Little Sarasota Bay, bringing fresh catches to what was then a working fishing village. Over time, the marina became known for waterfront drinks, Old Florida charm, and a laid-back local feel.

The property operated under several names, including Detroiter Fishing Camp, Madden-Bar Fishing Camp, Bob White Fishing Camp, Marker 39 Fish Camp, and Spanish Point Marina.

In 2016, the Evanoff family brought new life to the property while preserving its waterfront spirit. Improved docks, and expanded menus, helped shape it into the restaurant and tiki destination guests enjoy today.

Today, Evie’s On the Bay continues to celebrate everything people love about Florida living.
